AUSTRALASIAN BIRD RESEARCH
An independent journal of Australasian ornithology
Australasian Bird Research (ABR) is an online journal that provides the opportunity for rapid publication of peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of research on Australasian birds, their conservation and management that may not be suitable for mainstream journals.
ABR provides the opportunity for authors who may not have institutional support and wish to publish the results of their research. ABR will be online only, and all contributions will be published in PDF only. ABR has an ISSN (3083-4163), and all published contributions will have a DOI. Authors are encouraged to provide their ORCID identifier if they have one.
The ABR Editorial Board aims to accept or reject manuscripts within a week of submission. Submissions will be accepted at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
Contributions to be considered for publication in ABR should be sent to: editor@australasianbirdresearch.org
Contributions as Word or Pages files are acceptable. If associated graphs have been created in Excel or Numbers, authors are requested to submit the files separate to the manuscript. Detailed guidance on illustrations, maps and tables etc. can be provided by the Editor.
All accepted contributions will be subjected to an independent light review. This will allow ABR to publish contributions that may not be readily accepted by national or international journals. The Macquarie Dictionary (7th edition) is used for spelling, hyphenation etc.
Australian bird names will follow BirdLife Australia’s Working List of Australian Bird Names; common names have maximal capitalisation and scientific names are in italic type.
